Paul Dawson

Paul Dawson has been a professional photographer since 1988. Paul’s photos have featured on the front pages of major metropolitan newspapers including The Daily Telegraph, The Australian, The Weekend Australian, The Age and The Sun Herald’s Weekend Property section. Paul's photographs of the Kempsey bus crash and the refugee landing at Scotts Head and Australia's largest Heroin Haul were sent worldwide. His wedding photos were displayed in a double page feature in Sydney's Complete Wedding Bridal Magazine. Locally his photos have appeared on the front pages of the Port Macquarie News and on numerous occasions the Hastings Happenings. He has photographed former Prime Minister John Howard, former Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile, and Local federal MP Rob Oakeshott for his campaign shots. The Daily and Sunday Telegraph have also sent Paul to the private homes of former Police Commissioner John Avery and former NSW coroner Derrick Hand for portraits. His business Hydro Photographics photographs nearly twenty thousand children a year and even after 20 years of shooting, he still loves to shoot children. He is the National Chairperson of the Professional School Photography Association of Australia and New Zealand and has re-written the Australian Code of Practice for the School Photography Association. He has been a spokesperson to the photographic industry on the new Industrial Relations laws and is always keen to help fellow photographers. He is regularly asked to speak and educate photographers and students on Workflow and File / Colour Management issues and is passionate about the photography industry. That passion resulted in him being awarded the Photo Marketing Association’s National 2011 "Distinguished Service Award" for service to the photographic industry.

Annemaree Roach

Annemaree Roach

Annemaree is the school and team shoot day co-ordinator and trainer. Her goal is to ensure the smooth running of the shoot with the schools and teams. Annemaree also assists in the training of new staff at Hydro and updating the necessary skills to current staff members. Since starting with Hydro Photographics in 1996 Annemaree has had numerous photos in the Daily Telegraph, Sun Herald and Sunday Telegraph and was excited to be sent to photograph science guru Dr Karl Kruszelnicki for a portrait for The Australian Newspaper. Annemaree has also had numerous front pages of The Hastings Happenings, personally photographed over 350 weddings, shot tens of thousands of school children’s photos and over a thousand family portraits.

Michelle Morrison

Michelle Morrison

Michelle is the School and Team Production Manager for Hydro Photographics. Michelle is a long-term resident of Port Macquarie attending Port Macquarie Primary School before becoming a founding student of Hastings Public School in 1981. Michelle has been a part of the Hydro Photographics Team since 2002. Along with managing the Post Production of the School and Teams Department Michelle has been photographing weddings since 1994 after learning her passion for Photography whilst attending Port Macquarie High School. Michelle has photographed hundreds of family portraits, over 250 weddings and hundreds of school children’s photos and formal photos.

Iain McKinlay

Iain McKinlay

Iain is the school and teams sales co-ordinator. He comes with a vast array of marketing and sales experience. Initially in his marketing career he was involved in promoting aerial photography to property holders and government departments across New South Wales. As well as exhibitions and rural shows before technology took him on a wide ride into computerised mapping, the art of converting paper maps into digital information for computers. Iain has marketed digital mapping, aerial and satellite photography covering Australia and parts of South East Asia. He was involved in the initial promotion and marketing of computerised mapping for the Lands Department which is currently used extensively across Australia in the areas of Town Planning, Environmental Projects, Local, State and Federal Projects including the GPS information used in your car. 

Iain relocated to Port Macquarie in 1994. The marketing bug got hold of him again and started selling toner consumables and also became involved in selling Xerox office machinery.

Nerrida Dean

Nerrida Dean

Nerrida joined Hydro Photographics to fill the role as part of our production team, taking on the white bench position and controlling the packaging of all orders. With Nerrida's positive and enthusiastic attitude, her goal is to deliver quality products to our customers and guarantee valued service. Nerrida also joins our School Photography team for our larger schools as assistant to the individual photographer, helping position and pose the students. With twelve years experience in the Printing Industry, Nerrida developed a keen eye for detail. Nerrida and her family relocated to Port Macquarie from Nambucca Heads in 2009.
